Man at this house screams across the Wyoming
Wayne Street intersection at some skanky ol' woman.
I used to think his window was cool until he started
flying the stars and bars rebel flag.

During the first week I lived in d8n, I went to this salonon Wyoming St. to get a haircut. Some old dude who was working
there offered to sell me some pills he said his buddies
stole from a pharmacy. He didn't even know me, and
started that conversation up from scratch.
I mean, do people in other cities get offered
oxycontin from complete strangers who admit
to it being stolen?
Appalachian brood settles down to anotherevening of chilling on the porch on East Fifth Street

Jazz Central on East Third Street is responsiblein large part for the live, original music scene
in D8N. When it was the Building Lounge, cutting-edge
punk rock bands like MOM and Toxic Reasons frequented
the bill.

At Abracadabra costume shop on Fifth Street, you canbecome who you want for the annual Oregon District Halloween bash.
New life has sprung up at the Fifth and Hamilton Streetrailroad tracks with the opening of the Fifth Street Grill.
You can get $1 draft beers and $4 pitchers everyMonday and Thursday at the historic Trolley Stop,
one of my favorite D8N watering holes. Say hi to Jon
if you stop in, and tell him drexel dave sent you.
But the bookstore he founded still stands andis going strong on Fifth Street in the Oregon District.
And if you go inside, there is a treasure trove ofused books, comic books, magazines from the past...it's
just a fabulous store with a little bit of everything for everyone.

You're crazy... Oregon Express has the best pizza in Dayton. :D
wrong answer. I do like the Oregon Express Pizza, but the Pizza Factory has got it going on with the Gourmet Pizzas. Howerver, Oregon Express has got the new Pizza Factory sit-in restaurant beats hands down in the atmosphere department. I am still pretty disappointed that they haven't done anything more with the inside since taking over the ol' Cafe Potage building. As rock and roll as the Pizza Factory is, I'm holding out hope that they'll bring some of that spirit to the inside of the building.
Okay.
Pizza - Giovanni's in Fairborn is the best pizza in the area, period. That said, OE and PF are in the 90th percentile (with Papa John's and Domino's in the 40-th).
Stars And Bars Battle Flag - before you write-off the man, how about asking him what the flag represents to him? Unlike the bent cross, which has become an irredeemable symbol since WWII, the S&B is co-opted by people of various bents and persuasions. Not all S&B bearers want a return to Jim Crow.
Bootydoo Woman on E. Third - was the juxtaposition of her and the "FREE" intentional or accidental?
Trolley Stop - I'll be there tomorrow night. If Jon is there, I'll tell him you sent me (even though that's not really the truth)

We'll have to agree to disagree on the pizza, although it would be a great way to win me over to Giovanni's by feeding me one!
As for the stars and bars, yes, I know what you are saying and have heard that argued many times.
But what the stars and bars means TO ME is a symbol of terrorism used by human filth like the KKK, and other ignorant racist groups. Plain and simple.
Plus, it was the symbol for the side who fought for the enslavement of innocent human beings.
Nobody is EVER going make me a fan of the stars and bars. Sure, someone can say they are proud of their grandpappy's heritage, as long as they are proud of the human shackles that it also represented then perhaps that makes sense.
Logically, I cannot seperate the two.
The free bootydo was completely unintentional. Didn't even notice it until you mentioned it ;-)
I currently reside in Brooklyn, NY after looking at some of these pictures of Dayton. I never ask myself why I moved away. I continue to make reference that Dayton, OH is and will remain in a time capsule. In 20 years people are in the same place at the same pace.
