Probably like many people in many areas of the USA, I get sick and tired of being sick and tired about the Disney-esque way that my local world is presented by our local corporate media wizards, or the hordes of bad PR agents working to sell the fantasy viewpoint that EVERYTHING IS JUST FINE AND DANDY in our Grand City of Dayton, Ohio.

Wilford Brimley was on Fifth Street in the
Oregon District this week and was hightailing
it to the nearest restroom after a shot of Tequila
and Metamucil at the Trolley Stop.

The Dayton Gym Club serves lunch four times a week
and hosts the occasional train-wreck speed metal show.

The crew at the Family Video store on Wayne Ave.
woke up Saturday morning with a giant window
broken, and the store broke into overnight.

The Rutledge Art Gallery in downtown.

Watering the flowers at Riverscape.

We got a new puppy.

Cycling past the industrial ruins of yesteryear on Wayne Ave.

Brother catchin' a ride on James H. McGee.

Smokin' Joes BBQ on West Third Street - YUMMY!

The Ohio Loan Company on West Third and Broadway.

Quick Income Tax filing in the 'hood is
as essential to survival as spinner wheels.

Nice Idea. I didn't know Dayton before.
I live in Reggio Emilia, Italy.

Classic irony...a while back the Family Video sign announced "Get your copy of The Ring today!"

I thought...The Ring is about the murderous ghost of a little girl who was killed by her mother because her father didn't want kids...now THAT is a Family Video!

Greetings.
I was at the Trolley on Saturday and met Jon behind the bar. I learned that he was a drummer in an old band of yours. Said you were a good man. Were it not for my working on 2nd shift, I'd be a regular for those $1 drafts on Thursdays. Even without that, the courtyard is a great spot to sit and gab. CYa,

Each time I look at these pictures, the phrase "dry rot" comes to mind. Ever been to Utica, NY? Same feel, if my memory serves me well.
