Probably like many people in many areas of the USA, I get sick and tired of being sick and tired about the Disney-esque way that my local world is presented by our local corporate media wizards, or the hordes of bad PR agents working to sell the fantasy viewpoint that EVERYTHING IS JUST FINE AND DANDY in our Grand City of Dayton, Ohio.

I don’t endorse elevating the importance of amateur sports higher than need be. At the same time parents should be proud of their children and having a sticker on a car is okay by me. I probably won’t ever do it but I say live and let live. There’s no need to confuse proud and nurturing parents with over-zealous, athletic-minded parents and coaches. Most times, these “sticker parents” will continue encouraging their children to achieve whatever goals they set—not only in sports related accomplishments.
My dear Mr. Foreverlow,
There is no need to confuse the issue. Where would Dayton be if Charles Kettering, Dr. Creep or the Wayne Avenue meth lab chemist had 'sticker parents'
Just wanted to say keep up the good work on the photography, I havent watched the videos yet, though.
Dave is spot on with the silly stickers on the cars/SUVs. I laugh at many of them, "Go Wee Tigers" "Go Get'me Zach"...etc. I do hope he gets back to the pics of Dayton in the future, as there are lots of changes going on, in and around town.
As a "sticker" parent I am offended by your remarks on this. I have stickers on my van because I am proud of my kids. Do I want them to do their best? Of course. Will they be star athletes...probably not. They are having fun, getting exercise, and learning to work well in a team. There are also stickers for honor roll students, and other academic and musical achievements. And I will proudly show them all off. for this short period of time my kids will know that to their parents...they are #1.
